RETAINING

Retaining walls are primarily designed to retain (hold back) soil to prevent it from sliding or eroding away and there are a few questions to be considered when building a retaining wall such as the type of soil it will be retaining, what is above and below the wall, the height of the wall, the environment of the wall (industrial or residential) etc. Due to the fact that retaining walls are holding back large quantities of soil it is imperative that they are properly designed and installed and for larger retaining walls an engineered design will be required. As with paving bricks there are various products available for you to choose from and Ritepave can help design your retaining wall to not only be functional but also to be an aesthetically pleasing extension to your garden and outdoor area.
